For years, the Green Bay Packers have relied on their offense in order to prop up the defense. Now, the offense is going through their own struggles. After Monday night’s loss, Jaire Alexander expressed some frustration with the poor offensive output.

Green Bay Packers Jaire Alexander On The Team’s Offense
“At this point it’s pretty obvious that the defense has to not give up any touchdowns,” Alexander said in the postgame. The star cornerback is feeling the pressure of poor offensive output. For as much criticism as the defense has taken, they only gave up 17 points tonight. Davante Adams had some catches but didn’t have a career game. Overall they played well. However, three Jordan Love interceptions and another first half where the team could only score single-digit points have left the defense feeling the pressure to carry the team. Alexander admitted that the offense is young and understands there are growing pains but is also realizing that the defense needs to go up a level.

Bye Week Comes At A Good Time
The team can now stop a spiral. Having to come out next week after a short week might have spelled disaster but now the team gets plenty of time to figure out how to fix the myriad of issues. There are many of them but it starts with playing consistent football on both sides of the ball. The defense overall has played pretty well this season but has drives where they cannot stop anything. Similarly, the offense has looked amazing at times but then lays an egg on three straight drives. While growing pains are expected, some level of consistency would be nice to see.

It is interesting to see Jaire Alexander get a little frustrated with the Green Bay Packers offense. If the poor output continues, we could see more of this type of frustration out of certain players. The hope is that the coaching staff can diagnose the problem and the Packers can come out of the bye week looking like a new team.
