A tale as old as time. Or at least, a tale as old as the day Matt LaFleur took over as head coach of the Green Bay Packers. Since 2019, the Packers are now 9-0 against their oldest rivals, their latest win coming in convincing fashion in the form of a 38-20 showing in Week One.
Of course, it was an important victory of the Packers. Jordan Love, in his first game since taking over the starting quarterback job following the trade of four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, finished the day 15/27 for 245 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Rodgers, who famously yelled “I still own you!” to jeering Bears fans certainly seems to have passed on the deed to his successor. However, there is one player who has apparently inherited Rodgers’ savage taunts towards Bears fans: his old friend David Bakhtiari.
Green Bay Packers Left Tackle Savagely Trolls Chicago Bears Fans During the Game

Bakhtiari, who did not practice for two weeks going into the game, was as good as he ever was (and he is a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro), allowing exactly zero pressures.
He was having fun on the field, too, and was captured on camera numerous times absolutely trolling Chicago fans in the stands.
Hunter Baumgardt of 97.3 The Game captured these photos of Bakhtiari after Quay Walker’s pick six:

As one can see, this must have been going on for a bit too long because head coach Matt LaFleur can be seen coming onto the field to drag Bakhtiari off of it.
After Romeo Doubs scored his second touchdown, there were several fans giving Bakhtiari the old one-finger salute. This is how he responded:

Prior to both of these instances, Lauren Helmbrecht of WFRV captured this video of the first Doubs touchdown. You will notice Bakhtiari doing a very, uh, interesting celebration at the end:
Here’s a look at Love’s first touchdown pass as the #Packers starter. Finds Doubs for an 8 yard score.

Apparently, Bakhtiari told Matt Schneidman of The Athletic that the only way he can describe that celebration is by calling it a “Yeet-gasm.”
There was a great deal of unfounded talk going into the season that Bakhtiari was not happy, that he wanted to be traded, or that he was too injured to be any good. Well, he put all of those silly notions to rest against the Bears. He’s having fun, he’s embraced his new teammates, and he’s got Jordan Love’s blindside covered.
Can’t ask for anything more than he gave today. If he keeps up this level of play, he could end up back in the Pro Bowl and be named to an All-Pro team again.
