The NFL uses airlines more than most organizations in the United States. With 32 teams playing 16 games a year, three pre-season games, the Draft, and so many more events, airlines are part of daily life in the league. Even rookies in the league should be used to air travel as they likely had their fair share of it in college. That being said, one NFL team completely disregarded one flight on their way to the Hall of Fame game.
NFL: Former Green Bay Packers and Current Cleveland Browns Linebacker Aids In Leaving Airplane In Deplorable Condition (Report)

Za’Darius Smith and the Cleveland Browns took a flight back to Cleveland, however, it was reportedly left in horrible conditions after they landed. According to an article on Liveandletsfly.com, The Cleveland Browns allegedly trashed their United Airlines flight from West Virginia back to Cleveland.
Flight UA1893 was supposed to depart from Washington DC and head to San Francisco Monday but was delayed due to a major cleanup. The gate agents explained to impatient passengers waiting to board their flight that the plane ‘had been used to charter a professional sports team earlier that day.’
Onboard, the pilot apologized “multiple times saying it was the most disgusting he’s seen a plane in his career.” Special menus with the Cleveland Browns logo were found in seat back pockets. It was further explained that the aircraft was full of “garbage, spilled food and drink everywhere, etc.”
Cleveland Remains Undisciplined In The League

The Browns have been historically one of the worst franchises in the NFL over the last few decades. They desperate to change the stigma associated with their organization. However, reports like this one only add fuel to the fire that playing in Cleveland brings bad behavior. It will be interesting to see if any punishment is handed out by the league after this incident.
Former Packers’ star Za’Darius Smith has recently expressed his main goal this upcoming season is winning a Super Bowl ring with Cleveland. In an interview with Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal, Smith stated, “That’s the No. 1 goal is to help this team win a Super Bowl. Well, first of all, win the (AFC) North, well, win the division, sorry, and then go on and play in the Super Bowl”.
Events like these are not how you get there.
