The NFL world has been mourning this week after the tragic passing of RB Alex Collins. Collins’ death was the result of a motorcycle crash in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, on Sunday night, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office announced. Officials said that an SUV started turning left and that, as it crossed the eastbound lanes, Collins’ motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the SUV. Before he passed away so unexpectedly, his last social media activity suggested he wanted to join the Raiders.
Former NFL Running Back Alex Collins Hinted He Wanted To Join The Las Vegas Raiders (NFL)
Collins was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played for the team for one season before he headed off to the Ravens for two years. After a year off, he came back to Seattle for two more seasons. He most recently played for the Memphis Showboats of the USFL.
Just days before his death, it appears he was trying to get back into the league as his last like on Twitter proved:
Alex Collins last liked tweet was that he should return to the #NFL and sign with the #Raiders.

In 2017 Collins led the Baltimore Ravens with 973 yards rushing and six touchdowns. In 2018, Collins struggled to match the same success and was placed on injured reserve in December because of a foot injury.
The Raiders are having running back issues of their own. Running back Josh Jacobs has a contract offer from the Raiders that will pay him $10.091 million for the 2023 NFL season. Jacobs has not signed the deal or practiced with the Raiders since the end of the 2022 campaign. It would have been an incredible story to see Collins come back into the league and find success with a running back needy team.
