The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have the longest-standing rivalry in NFL History. The two teams have matched up 206 times over their 100+ year rivalry. The Green Bay Packers currently hold a 105-95-6 advantage over the Chicago Bears, however, both franchises are in the midst of a new era. The Justin Fields vs Jordan Love era is fully underway in 2023. Chicago Bears’ quarterback Justin Fields worked out with a pretty significant all-time QB this off-season.
Justin Fields Shares He Is Working Out With Michael Vick This Off-Season
Per Matthew Brown of Gridiron Heroics:
Justin Fields Works With Michael Vick
It makes sense that the Bears would bring in Vick. Fields had the second most rushing yards for a quarterback in a season behind only Lamar Jackson and just ahead of Vick. However, while Vick was electric with his legs, his arm was elite as well. This is where Fields needs to improve. Some of his passing stat lines last season were downright awful. A lot of people blamed this on the talent around him and while this was some of it, Fields struggled with accuracy as well. The Bears are hoping that Vick can show him some of the ropes.
All On Fields
The rest of the roster should take a step forward but the Bears are going nowhere unless Fields takes a step forward. Even with his great statistical season on the ground, the Bears still ended the season with the worst record in the league. With an improved offensive line, DJ Moore, and familiarity with the system, Fields has no excuse anymore. He has to show that he can become the quarterback of the future and the Bears are giving him every opportunity to show that.
The Chicago Bears committed to Justin Fields this off-season by trading away their number one overall pick to the Carolina Panthers. Fields has a 5-20 career record as a starter in the NFL. He has recorded a 59.7% career completion rate coupled with an average of 12 touchdown passes per season and 10.5 interceptions per season.
