For the first time in his NBA career, former Milwaukee Bucks second round pick Sandro Mamukelashvili does not need to earn a place on a roster by playing in the NBA Summer League. Once a player with the Bucks, and whom Jrue Holiday once joked was his most annoying teammate, Mamukelashvili was released by the team late last seaon.

Shortly after he was let go by the Bucks, Mamukelashvili was signed by the San Antonio Spurs. Coach Gregg Popovich gave him much more playing time than he received in Milwaukee under Coach Mike Budenholzer, and Mamukelashvili flourished.
In 19 games with the Spurs, he averaged 23.3 minutes per game (he only averaged 9.0 minutes with the Bucks) and put up per game splits of 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. This offseason, San Antonio signed him to a one-year $2 million contract.
San Antonio Spurs Number One Overall Pick Victor Wembanyama Will Make His Summer League Debut Tonight
Perhaps the most highly-regarded first overall pick since LeBron James in 2003, Victor Wembanyama has been on NBA fans’ radar for a couple of years now. The 7’5″ French star will make his NBA Summer League debut tonight in Las Vegas when the Spurs take on the Charlotte Hornets and second overall pick Brandon Miller.
Mamukelashvili, however, will not be playing. After two years of fighting for a spot on the Bucks’ roster during the NBA Summer League, he now has a guaranteed spot on the Spurs’ roster.
It is unknown whether or not he will be present to see the game, though. Wembanyama’s debut, as mentioned, has been highly anticipated and the 17,500 seat arena is sold out.
Fans can watch Wembanyama’s debut on ESPN at 7:00 PM CST.
