NBA news: Julius Randle has had a colorful career in the NBA. From starting it off with the Los Angeles Lakers as their No. 7 overall pick back in 2014, he was then sent packings by LA to the New Orleans Pelicans four years later as part of the Anthony Davis blockbuster deal.
Randle then found his way to the New York Knicks, where he is now considered one of the most important players of the squad. Through the years, he’s also grown to love the city of New York.
NBA News: Julius Randle Claims Nothing Beats New York Fans
In a recent interview, Randle appears to have thrown a bit of shade on Lakers (and Pelicans) fans as he described just how special New York supporters truly are. According to Randle, Knicks fans reign supreme:
“I’ve been in multiple places that are the epitome of excellence…Kentucky…Lakers. Now I’m here in NYC. Playing in the City…in the Garden—it’s different man. It’s an energy that’s just not matched anywhere else. Yeah it’s dope. I love it”

LA fans aren’t going to love this. The Lakers own one of the most glamorous fan bases in the entire league, and you could say that they’re a pretty passionate bunch as well. While Randle may agree with this to a certain extent, it is clear that the two-time All-Star holds New Yorkers in higher regard.
NBA News: Julius Randle Seen as Great Fit Alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo
Despite his blooming love affair with the city and the organization, however, Randle has been repeatedly linked to a move away from the Knicks. If New York ever decides to pull the plug on their star power forward, then the Milwaukee Bucks could be a good landing spot for him.
The Bucks haven’t made a formal offer for Randle or anything. However, according to an unnamed NBA executive, Randle could prove to be an excellent fit alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo:
“Giannis is one who comes to mind because of the way he cuts and makes himself available and can play off other passers,” the exec told Sean Deveney of heavy.com. “I am not saying that Milwaukee is beating down the doors to get Julius Randle, but that is the kind of star who could work well with a player with Randle’s skill.”
Do you agree with this? Randle still has three years on his deal with the Knicks, but he does have a player option for 2025-26. Could he really end up in Milwaukee somewhere down the road?
