NBA news: The Boston Celtics made some big moves this offseason. They brought in Kristaps Porzingis from the Washington Wizards in a blockbuster trade deal that saw Danilo Gallinari, among others, shipped out of Boston. Gallo has now found a new home with the Washington Wizards and at this point, it is clear that he wants a bit of revenge on the Celtics.
NBA News: Danilo Gallinari Talks Up Revenge Narrative Vs. Celtics
Gallinari did not bad mouth the Celtics in a recent interview, but he didn’t exactly heap praise on his former team either. The Wizards have yet to receive their schedule for 2023-24 but the 6-foot-10 forward is already very much looking forward to it:
“I’m loaded up, can’t wait to play against Boston,” Gallinari said, via Francesco Manzi of Basket Universo. “As soon as the calendar comes out I will put an X on all the times I play against Boston in Boston.”
Gallo signed as a free agent with the Celtics last summer, but unfortunately, a major knee injury prevented him from ever taking the floor for Boston. The front office decided to pull the plug on him this summer, thereby preventing him from showing the team what he can bring to the table on the basketball court. It looks like this is exactly what the 34-year-old plans to do now that he’s with the Wizards.
NBA News: Bucks Also Lost Multiple Players This Summer
Much like their fierce Eastern Conference rivals, the Bucks also lost multiple players in the offseason. Headlining the list is nine-year veteran Joe Ingles, who has now taken his talents to the Orlando Magic via free agency. Wesley Matthews also left Milwaukee in favor of a move to the Atlanta Hawks, while Jevon Carter moved on to the Chicago Bulls after his contract with the Bucks came to an end. Finally, Milwaukee decided against renewing the deals of veterans Goran Dragic and Meyers Leonard, who are currently both still looking for their next NBA team.
As far as I know, though, none of these players are looking to exact revenge on the Bucks. Or at least none of them have been as vocal as Danilo Gallinari.
