The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Chicago Cubs 7-6 in 11 innings on Tuesday afternoon. What could have been yet another astounding comeback turned to disappointment. Third base coach Jason Lane made two terrible decisions to send runners home when they had no chance of being called safe.
One would think that, after winning a game his team could easily have lost, Cubs manager David Ross would have been in a good mood. However, he was far from happy. When the microphones went on, Ross went on a rant about the umpires and the Brewers’ decision to half-close the roof at American Family Field.

During the game, Ross was frequently out of the dugout to argue balls and strikes with the home plate umpire. As a result, he was ejected from the contest. Afterwards, he admitted that being an umpire is a hard job, but that they need to be better than they were in the game today.
And he saved some special vitriol for the Brewers and their decision to close the roof halfway:

As seen in the video, Ross calls the partial roof closing “bull s—,” a couple of times. He claimed that the shadows the resulted from the partial closure messed his his hitters’ ability to see the ball:

Now, one could understand Ross’ argument that the partial closure affected his hitters. Except there is just one problem: the Brewers hitters had to hit with the roof partially open, too. The argument that it gave the Brewers an unfair advantage is just silly.
