The Milwaukee Bucks have been on a hot winning streak since the All-Star break, but they’ve been missing Khris Middleton in their lineup. He has been out for several weeks due to a left ankle sprain during a game against the Phoenix Suns. Middleton has been recognized as a solid second option for scoring before the Damian Lillard trade.
Khris played only 33 games last season and averaged 15 points, four rebounds, and five assists. His stats are virtually the same this season, except that he’s only averaging fourteen points, and he played 43 games.
When Could Khris Middleton Return For The Milwaukee Bucks?
Scott Rafferty of Sporting News reported that Middleton is out against the Warriors on Wednesday. Scott reported in the article:
On March 4, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers told Nehm that Middleton hasn’t suffered a setback in his recovery and that he is close to returning.
“Do we expect him on this trip? We’re hoping, but again, if it’s just not 100 percent for us, we’re just not willing to push it right now,” Rivers said. “There’s no need to.”
Wednesday’s matchup with the Warriors is the first of four straight road games for the Bucks. They’re scheduled to return to Milwaukee on March 14 for a game against the 76ers.
Head coach Doc Rivers isn’t trying to rush Middleton back into the game. The Bucks are one of the top teams in the East and can easily secure the two seed going into the playoffs. It’s possible that the Bucks could obtain the one seed, but they need to keep this hot streak going well into the end of the regular season. Middleton could return after they finish their four-road game trip, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he returns by the end of March.
The Celtics are now seven games ahead of the Bucks for the first seed in the Eastern Conference. Realistically, the Bucks can obtain the two seed as the only threat to the two seed is the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have 39 wins so far and have found a second wind in their play style.
