The Golden State Warriors host a surging Milwaukee Bucks side on Wednesday night at the Chase Center in a showdown between two sides with championship aspirations this season.
For their part, the Warriors just got a massive Andrew Wiggins boost ahead of Wednesday’s bout following a mysterious four-game absence by the former All-Star. It appears that Wiggins has been able to settle a “serious family matter” and he is now expected to return to the lineup against Milwaukee.
Andrew Wiggins Returns for Milwaukee Bucks Clash
NBA guru Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Wiggins is now returning to San Francisco to re-join the Warriors:
“Andrew Wiggins is expected to return to team activities with the Warriors this week after tending to a serious family matter, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. Wiggins is en route back to the Bay Area today after missing the previous four games,” Shams reported.
The team has been very respectful of Wiggins’ situation and they have chosen not to provide any details regarding his personal matter. The Warriors took a similar approach last season when the 6-foot-7 small forward missed 22 games also because of a similar family matter, and it seems that this will be the case again this time around.
Additionally, head coach Steve Kerr also announced on Tuesday that Wiggins is expected to take the floor on Wednesday against the Bucks. The fact that the former first-overall pick (presumably) was unable to perform any form of basketball activity during his week-long hiatus means that Golden State will be throwing him back into the fire immediately.
