The Milwaukee Bucks have been synonymous with green and cream for decades. The iconic deer logo, a symbol of the city’s resilience, has graced jerseys and arenas for generations. Numerous Hall of Famers have played in this jersey. It’s very similar to the Green Bay Packers and their design – it’s old school, and no one wants to change it. It’s had some alterations, including one in 2015, but nothing too drastic.
But some NBA teams have rebranded recently, and even more are going to join the course. Most recently, the LA Clippers have done a full-on rebrand based on their Navy origins. Their logo and uniforms are going to be vastly different, with the main similarity being the color scheme. Even that’s slightly different.
Everything To Know About The 2024 Los Angeles Clippers Rebrand
For decades, the Los Angeles Clippers existed in the shadow of their glamorous Staples Center co-tenants, the Lakers. Often dubbed the “little brother,” the Clippers craved a distinct identity. In a bold move that shook the NBA, they received just that in 2024 with a complete rebrand and a new stadium.
Gone were the red, white, and blue, replaced with a sharper palette of navy blue. The logo has changed to include a warship, though it’s kind of hard to see.
This transformation mirrored the Clippers’ on-court success. Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and James Harden have been a (somewhat past its prime) super-team, and the new branding aimed to match their fierce competitiveness.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets have also done a rebrand in recent years. The Wizards have also been rumored to be on the hunt for a rebrand, although they should be focused on a permanent rebuild based on their current play.
What Would The Milwaukee Bucks Rebrand Look Like?
The Bucks could lean into their deer identity. The primary color would be a deep forest green. Cream and gold accents and finishings would provide a classic touch, honoring the team’s history. There could be an emphasis on a younger, funnier-looking deer than the one that mascots the team now.
Another concept would be to draw inspiration from Milwaukee’s industrial heritage. The primary colors would be a mix of silver and green, reflecting the city’s steel mills and hardworking spirit. Metallic silver accents highlight the team’s cutting-edge approach. They could look to incorporate the deer aspect of the team’s identity in some parts of the logo, as well as some industrial buildings.
Yet another concept would be celebrating Milwaukee’s beautiful location on Lake Michigan (the inspiration for the Lakers when they played in Minnesota). The primary color is a calming aqua blue, representing the vastness of the lake. A vibrant sunset orange adds a bit of energy and optimism.
The log would feature a buck standing on a rocky outcrop overlooking an aqua lake with a vibrant sunset in the background. If done correctly, this would be one of the best logos in the league and it would tell a story in a way most logos just cannot do.
