Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo missed Sunday’s game against the Phoenix Suns due to a hamstring injury. Milwaukee had six players score in double figures against Phoenix and won by a final score of 140-129.
It was very impressive for the Bucks to have six different players score in double digits without their best player against a quality NBA opponent. Damian Lillard scored 31 points, grabbed five rebounds, recorded 16 assists, and recorded one steal.
Lillard recording 16 assists in the game was a season-high for him and it is a good thing that he was able to get other teammates involved. Damian Lillard was the first player in Bucks history to have a game with at least 30 points and 15 assists.
Once again, Bobby Portis Jr. was sensational off the bench and he also scored 31 points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded two assists, and recorded three steals. Portis Jr. is one of the favorites to win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
Jae Crowder scored 18 points for the Bucks, Malik Beasley scored 17 points, and Brook Lopez also added 10 points for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks Khris Middleton Plays Well Against the Phoenix Suns for the Milwaukee Bucks
This was the first game back from the ankle injury for Khris Middleton. The last time he played was on 2/6 also against the Suns. In this contest for the Bucks, he scored 22 points, grabbed three rebounds, recorded seven assists, and recorded one steal.
With Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the lineup and with Middleton back in the starting lineup, this is a good sign for the Bucks moving forward. Khris Middleton needs to be that reliable third-scoring option on a night-to-night basis.
There were some Bucks fans who were worried about Kevin Durant of the Suns potentially injuring Middleton again in this matchup. With the win on Sunday afternoon for the Bucks, they improved to 44-24 on the season and are the two seed in the Eastern Conference. As for the Suns, they have a 39-29 record and are currently the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
