The Milwaukee Bucks have high hopes going into the 2023-24 NBA season. With new head coach Adrian Griffin at the helm, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Company will try to return to the NBA Finals after winning a Championship in 2021.
While Mike Budenholzer may not be the head coach of the Bucks anymore, his legacy remains. Say what you will about him and his failure to take the Bucks back to the Promised Land in each of the two seasons after winning it all, Milwaukee is now a team that is a perennial Championship contender. While much of this has to do with Giannis and the players, it is also largely in part due to the expectations he set during his tenure as head coach.
As a marquee team in the NBA, the Bucks often get primetime games on dates that reserved for the league’s most intriguing teams. It has already been announced that they will play the New York Knicks on Christmas Day this year, for example.
However, that is not the only big game that they have been given for the 2023-24 NBA regular season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks Will Face Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on Opening Night
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Twitter that the Bucks and 76ers will play on the first night of the 2023-24 NBA season. They will be followed by the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers:

Since 2018, Giannis has averages of 31.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game against the 76ers. Joel Embiid and himself have combined to win three of the last five NBA MVP Awards.
