Sunday’s contest against the Philadelphia 76ers wasn’t an ordinary regular-season game for Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley. Not only was he facing his former team for the first time since his mid-season trade, but it was also an opportunity for him to return to his former stomping ground as the Sixers hosted the Bucks at the Wells Fargo Center.
Milwaukee ended up securing a huge win over the home team on Sunday, 119-98, and Beverley just had to send a savage message to the Philadelphia faithful after the victory.
Milwaukee Bucks Vet Patrick Beverley’s Message to Sixers Fans
Beverley took to Twitter not long after the final buzzer to share a heartfelt yet characteristically ruthless message to his former fans:
Hate to do it. But it’s only right. Philly thanks for everything. ❤️❤️But……….Belt 2 A$$ @PatBevPod
— Patrick Beverley (@patbev21) February 25, 2024
Beverley sent a shoutout to Sixers supporters with a message of gratitude for all the love they gave him during his brief spell in Philadelphia. He prefaced his savagery with a bit of a disclaimer before dropping his infamous “Belt 2 A$$” mantra on his former team.
That’s just so on-brand for Pat Bev, and I’m pretty sure Sixers fans weren’t expecting anything less from the feisty veteran.
Beverley didn’t exactly make waves during Sunday’s game, though, finishing with just three points on 1-of-5 shooting, to go along with two assists, and a steal in 18 minutes off the bench.
Then again, even Philly supporters know that Beverley is not the type who’s going to stuff the stat sheet on any given night. His value goes far beyond what we see in the box score, and the fact that the Bucks are now 3-2 since he joined the team is perhaps the clearest testament to this notion.
