Milwaukee Bucks news: After being tagged as doubtful to play ahead of Thursday’s Game 6 showdown against the Indiana Pacers, Damian Lillard was in real danger of missing what turned out to be their final game of the season. To his credit, the eight-time All-Star battled through the same Achilles injury that forced him to sit out Game 5.
In the end, however, it didn’t matter all too much as the Bucks fell, 120-98, to see their campaign come to a bitter end.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Damian Lillard Sheds Light on Game 6 Injury Status
Lillard went through an intense process as he worked his way to fitness ahead of Thursday’s clash. According to Dame, however, it was the sight of an empty Gainbridge Fieldhouse stadium that pushed him to play through the pain:
“I did my pregame shooting and then I think just being in the building, seeing all the t-shirts on the chairs. I started moving around a little bit and I was just like, ‘F**k it. I’m going to play,'” Lillard said. “Let’s just do it. This is it. There’s no guarantee that we’re going to make it back home and I want to be out there, so that was it.”

Lillard could have easily sat this one out and joined Giannis Antetokounmpo on the bench for Game 6. Dame, however, dug deep and pushed through.
Lillard was far from a hundred percent. However, he still finished with a game-high 28 points on 7-of-16 shooting, to go along with two rebounds and four assists. Despite a heroic effort from Dame, though, the Bucks are still headed home after another early exit in the postseason.
