Milwaukee Bucks veteran Patrick Beverley prides himself on his elite defense. It’s also true, however, that Pat Bev is the type who calls it as it is. This is exactly why the feisty veteran is more than comfortable in saying that he is not the best guard defender in the NBA right now.
According to Beverley himself, this title belongs to former Bucks star Jrue Holiday.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Patrick Beverley Gets Real on Jrue Holiday’s Value
Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, Beverley shared his honest thoughts on Holiday and what the latter brings to the table for the Boston Celtics. Pat Bev had nothing but high praise for Holiday’s unbridled defense. In fact, the Bucks vet made a bold claim about Holiday being the NBA’s top guard defender over the past decade:

Bucks fans will not question Beverley’s statement here. After all, they all witnessed and experienced Holiday’s elite defensive prowess during his time with the Bucks. The two-time All-Star played an undeniably pivotal role in the Bucks’ iconic 2021 title run, making Holiday a fan-favorite among the Bucks faithful. This is despite the fact that he’s now joined “the enemy” down in Bean Town.
While Beverley will not stop short of gloating about what he believes he is able to do for his team, the three-time All-Defense guard is still able to appreciate greatness when he sees it. Clearly, this is exactly what Pat Bev sees in Holiday.
