There were a handful of key takeaways from the Milwaukee Bucks’ 124-116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. One of them is the fact that MarJon Beauchamp can really ball.
A lot is expected from the incoming second-year forward in 2023-24, and if his performance against the Grizzlies is any indication, then this young man could truly be on the brink of a breakout season.
MarJon Beauchamp Leads Comeback for Milwaukee Bucks

Beauchamp was actually quiet for the first three quarters of Friday’s contest. However, once it was the reserves’ turn to play in the final period, the 23-year-old absolutely took advantage of his opportunity.
The Bucks were down 94-85 entering the final frame, but they mounted an incredible run in the fourth to scrape out the victory. Beauchamp played a key role as Milwaukee outscored their opponents 39-22 in the last quarter of the contest.
Beauchamp exploded in the fourth for 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting. He entered the final frame with just three points to his name, but he got hot when it mattered the most.
After the game, the 6-foot-6 swingman sounded off on his incredible preseason outing. According to Beauchamp, he’s finally getting the confidence he needs to showcase what he can really do on the basketball court:
“I feel like the first couple games, I was hesitating on my shot and not believing in it,” Beauchamp said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “I was actually in the gym with my dad, and he was the one that taught me how to shoot, so I had to tweak some little things with my footwork and jump a little higher on my shot. You can see the rhythm. It was different than the other games. I just gotta stick to it, keep working on that, keep being decisive.”
Giannis Has High Praise for Bucks Youngster

Even Giannis Antetokounmpo could not help but heap praise on Beauchamp for his show-stopping performance in the fourth quarter. The former back-to-back MVP was more than happy to say that Milwaukee probably would not have escaped with a victory had it not been for Beauchamp’s heroics:
“He basically won the game for us,” Antetokounmpo said. “He came in the fourth quarter, made plays, shot 3s. He wanted it, and it’s always awesome to see that, guys playing with a chip on their shoulder and guys just being aggressive. Don’t take nothing for granted, trying to earn every single thing on the court. That’s what I saw from him today.”

If he keeps this up, Beauchamp could find himself carving out a significant role for himself in the rotation this coming season. Gian
