That’s now back-to-back losses for the Milwaukee Bucks following their 112-97 loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Milwaukee had a good opportunity to bounce back from Wednesday’s heartbreaking loss to the Indiana Pacers against a previously four-win Orlando side, but instead of erasing their loss to their Central Division rivals, the Bucks did the exact opposite on Friday.
Khris Middleton Speaks Out on Milwaukee Bucks’ Tough Loss
Khris Middleton, who is still working his way back to full strength following offseason surgery on his left knee, was able to play just 19.5 minutes against Orlando. Friday’s outing was a bit of a step back for the three-time All-Star considering how this was the least amount of minutes he’d played over his last four appearances.
The 32-year-old finished with just 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting, to go along with two triples and a block. Middleton did dish out a season-high seven assists, though, as he was tasked with more playmaking duties on the evening with Damian Lillard out injured.
After the game, Middleton just had to call a spade a spade. The 6-foot-7 swingman was asked where he believes his team can improve the most after yet another deflating loss. Middleton got brutally honest in his response:
“Just figuring out a way to win games and play together, simple as that,” Middleton said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “Teams are working us on the defensive end, and we gotta figure out a way to do the same thing when we have the ball.
“I mean, we have so many talented guys. We’ve shown that we can do it in the past, but right now, I think we’re just trying to figure each other out, learn a new system, learn new schemes and philosophies. But now we have to start putting that knowledge into action.”
He’s not wrong. This new-look Bucks team is indeed still trying to find that right amount of chemistry as the new season progresses. However, even Middleton knows that this excuse is growing tired fast.
