Khris Middleton had what most, if not all would consider his best game of the season on Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets. The three-time All-Star logged season-high marks in points (27) and assists (10) as he helped lead his team to a 144-122 blowout win at the Barclays Center.
It was a historic evening for Middleton as well after the 6-foot-7 small forward eclipsed the 12,000-point mark for career points against the Nets.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Khris Middleton Reacts to Epic Milestone
Middleton looked a bit surprised when he was told after the game that he had just scored 12,000 points in his career.
“12,000 is big,” he said. “Still got a long way to get up to Dame, but I’m proud of myself for that.”
Damian Lillard, who scored 12 points on Wednesday night, recently became the 51st player in the history of the NBA to score 20,000 career points. Middleton is still around 8,000 points (and counting) away from Lillard’s elite record, but as the former said, he’s extremely proud of his latest scoring feat.

‘Legs Are Coming Back’
Middleton then spoke out about the progress he’s been making on his road to recovery following offseason surgery. The Bucks have taken a cautious approach in bringing Middleton back to full speed, but Wednesday’s performance appears to be a clear indication of the notion that he’s close to a hundred percent:
“(I’ve) been feeling great as of late,” he continued. “My legs is coming back.
“We’re playing better team basketball, we just gotta figure out the defensive end. I think we’re still trending in the right direction.”
"Still got a long way to get up to Dame, but I'm proud of myself for that."

As Middleton said, the Bucks have also been playing some great basketball of late. It’s no coincidence that Milwaukee’s rise occurs simultaneously with Middleton’s return to form.
It appears that both Middleton and the Bucks have nowhere to go but up.
