According to this year’s iteration of ESPN’s esteemed Top 100 rankings, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the NBA heading into the new season. This does not come as a complete shock considering how dominant the former back-to-back MVP has been over the past several years.
One man who clearly doesn’t agree with ESPN’s ranking is former Bucks guard JJ Redick, and the retired sharpshooter did not hold back in making his true feelings about it known.
Ex-Milwaukee Bucks G JJ Redick Rips ESPN’s Top 100 Ranking

To be clear, Redick’s gripe does not stem from Giannis claiming the top spot. After all, the 39-year-old has talked about Anteotkounmpo’s greatness many times in the past.
What Redick cannot understand is how these so-called experts chose to blatantly exclude Boston Celtics guard Derrick White from the Top 100 list:
“Of these 150 people who claim to be basketball experts, how is Derrick White not in the top 100?“ Redick exclaimed (h/t Mike McDaniel of SI). “How is that possible? He’s a top 50 player. What playoff games were you watching last year? Oh my God. … It’s a troll for engagement. That’s all it is.”

For what it’s worth, White averaged 13.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 blocks for the Celtics during the playoffs last season. He also drained 2.5 triples per game on a 45.5-percent clip, making him one of Boston’s most effective floor spacers throughout the postseason.
As Redick implied in his passionate rant, he firmly believes that White should have been on the list over guys like Mitchell Robinson (100), Jalen Williams (95), Immanuel Quickley (92), and Kevon Looney (88), to name a few.
You also have to note that Redick is currently employed by ESPN. He did not hesitate to bite the hand that feeds him.
