After coaching for 43 games this season, the Milwaukee Bucks have fired Adrian Griffin from his position as head coach. With reports of Doc Rivers possibly replacing him and Giannis Antetokounmpo allegedly using his influence to have him terminated, there is a lot to unpack from this issue.
For the entirety of his tenure as the Bucks’ head coach this season, Griffin has steered the team to a 30-13 record, good for the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Thanks to the acquisition of All-Star point guard Damian Lillard over the summer, Milwaukee has become one of the few favorites to win it all this season.
But despite getting a high seed in the standings, Griffin is now out of the equation. What’s possible, though, is Rivers coming in to coach Antetokounmpo, Lillard, and the rest of the team throughout the rest of the regular season, and into the playoffs.
Jamal Crawford, Candace Parker Drop a Dose of Reality Milwaukee Bucks Over The Firing Of Adrian Griffin and Hiring Doc Rivers
Similar to other personalities giving their opinion on the matter, such as Gilbert Arenas’ take on Rivers possibly getting the job and Jamal Crawford’s perspective on Griffin, the latter has another thing to say about the Bucks. This time, though, the former NBA star is saying it with Candance Parker.
Speaking on Gamebreak, both Parker and Crawford agree that there’ll be a honeymoon period after the possible hiring of Rivers. After that, reality will sink in, and there may be a time when there’ll be a different energy within the team.

Crawford adds that Lillard took time to adjust in Milwaukee. With Rivers possibly coming in, the players will have to adjust again, with the potential new head coach doing the same.
Everyone is waiting to see whether the Bucks will hire Rivers or not in the coming days. What’s certain, though, is that the team will have to work hard if they want to win it all this season.
