Officially, Milwaukee Bucks veteran Jae Crowder has already gone beyond the eight-week timetable he was given to recover from surgery on his left adductor. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old has yet to be cleared for action as the Bucks continue to take a cautious approach in bringing back the 6-foot-6 wing.
The good news is that Crowder has now taken a massive step toward his imminent return.
Milwaukee Bucks Assign Jae Crowder to NBA G League
The Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee’s affiliate team, announced on Tuesday via Twitter that Crowder has officially been sent down to the NBA G League:
The Milwaukee Bucks have assigned Jae Crowder, AJ Green and Chris Livingston to the Wisconsin Herd.

This is common practice for players returning from injury as they look to get s few reps in in the G League before being called back up to the NBA.
It is worth noting that Crowder was recently cleared for five-on-five work in practice, and the fact that he’s now expected to play a couple of games with the Herd only points to the fact that he will be back with the Bucks sooner rather than later.
At this point, there is still no firm timetable for Crowder’s return, but it would not be surprising if he is able to rejoin the Bucks as early as next week.
As the tweet indicates, joining Crowder with the Herd are rookie Chris Livingston and second-year shooting guard A.J. Green. Livingston scored a career-high six points during Monday’s blowout loss to the Utah Jazz.
Green also saw some action on Monday with Damian Lillard and Cameron Payne out of commission. He scored eight points with two triples in Milwaukee’s disappointing 132-116 loss.
