It’s not just Jrue Holiday who Milwaukee Bucks fans had to bid farewell to following the Damian Lillard blockbuster trade. Grayson Allen also parted ways with the team as part of that deal, and the 6-foot-4 shooting guard has now found a new home with the Phoenix Suns.
As it turns out, he’s already been making waves with his new team.
Former Milwaukee Bucks Guard Turning Heads in Phoenix
Allen landed with the Suns as part of the three-team deal that saw Lillard taking his talents to Milwaukee. Phoenix had to give up Deandre Ayton and Toumani Camara, and in exchange, they got Allen, Jusuf Nurkic, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson.
There’s no denying that Nurkic is the big pickup here, but as it is, it’s Allen who has been balling out in his first two games for Phoenix.
Allen followed up his 20-point debut with another eye-opening performance on Tuesday against the defending champions Denver Nuggets. The 28-year-old was one of the best players on the floor in this one, finishing with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting, to go along with one triple, three rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and a block in 27 minutes of action.
It’s obviously the preseason so we have to take Allen’s strong start with a grain of salt. However, it’s hard to deny that he’s making his case for a potential starter for the star-studded Suns this coming season.
Grayson Allen Trends on Twitter
Thanks to another strong performance for Phoenix, Allen saw himself trending on Twitter on Tuesday evening. Suns fans were singing the praises of the former Duke standout as they look forward to what Allen can bring to the table for Phoenix this term:
As it stands, Grayson Allen is the 4th-best player on this team. https://t.co/zZG9ECuonK

Grayson Allen making a good case for being the #Suns fifth starter. Looks like it could be a dogfight between him and Okogie.
So far..

The firepower of Grayson Allen, Eric Gordon and Yuta Watanabe is gonna drive some defenses crazy. Normally, not letting one of the Big 3 take a shot would be a win. Might not be the case when those guys are out there

Grayson Allen is getting it done at both levels 🔥

Grayson Allen might be the “Bruce Brown” of the Suns this season.
He can be the X-Factor that wins them a championship. He looks that good. pic.twitter.com/oZadoH0mz6

Loved this pick up. He’s tough as nails. Can come in and guard anyone. Hit the open 3. Will play a ton.

I guess it’s safe to say that the Grayson Allen hype train is about to leave the station anytime now.
