Larry Bird’s quote about Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo recently resurfaced on social media, especially since the Greek Freak has been playing out of his mind lately. During the sit-down with NBA on TNT, the former three-time NBA MVP praised the 29-year-old star.
“I really like to see his development from where he came in to now. The length, and the strength, and the things he does, he’s just amazing,” Bird said on Antetokounmpo.
“Can you imagine there’s ten guys out there his size playing? Wouldn’t that be something? He’s amazing. There’s just so many great players in our league now. I really like where the leagues at,” he added.
Bird also said he would’ve loved to play against Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic in his prime. His comments came before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season.
With Antetokounmpo leading the way, the Milwaukee Bucks are now 10-9 on the season, good for fifth in the Eastern Conference, after notching their sixth consecutive win against the Washington Wizards on Saturday night.
