According to the recently concluded NBA GM survey, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has the second-best odds of winning the MVP title this coming season. The Greek Freak came in as a distant second to Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic, who currently reigns supreme as the heavy favorite to win his third MVP title in the past four seasons.
Bucks fans won’t be too happy with the fact that Giannis has now dropped further in the preseason MVP race.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP Odds
Giannis already has two MVP trophies in his cabinet. According to the latest odds presented by renowned betting website FanDuel, Antetokounmpo isn’t likely to bag his third this coming season.
Right now, the Bucks talisman has been given +600 odds to take home the newly-renamed Michael Jordan MVP trophy in 2023-24. This actually isn’t so bad considering how Jokic has +430 odds. A significant development in the race, however, is the fact that Anteotkounmpo has now fallen to third, with a fast-rising superstar surpassing him for the second spot.
Giannis Settles for Third Behind Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic
It’s no surprise that Jokic is considered the massive favorite to win the MVP title again this year. After all, he is coming off a dominant championship run with the Nuggets, and they are also considered the frontrunners for this season’s title.
However, what might take some folks by surprise is how Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic has now overtaken Antetokounmpo in the race. According to FanDuel, the 24-year-old’s chances of winning the MVP title have gone up to +550, thereby bettering Giannis’ odds.
At the end of the day, though, Antetokounmpo probably isn’t paying much attention to this race. He has a bigger goal in mind, and he’s made that quite clear over the past several months.
