After winning a pair of games recently, the Milwaukee Bucks fell in a devastating fashion to the Miami Heat. After that 123-97 loss, Doc Rivers came out and vowed to fix the team’s glaring problem in that game.
In that particular contest, the Miami Heat went out and dismantled Milwaukee without Jimmy Butler, their best player on the roster. Instead of the All-Star, Nikola Jovic stepped up and led his team by dropping 24 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Duncan Robinson added 23 points by connecting 75 percent from beyond the arc.
Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks by posting 23 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in 33 minutes on the court. Damian Lillard and Malik Beasley notched 16 points each in the Bucks’ losing effort against Miami. This loss has now dropped Rivers’ coaching record to 3-6 after taking over the team from interim coach Joe Prunty.
Doc Rivers’ Vows To Fix Milwaukee Bucks Problem After Loss to Miami Heat
After the game, Rivers spoke to the media and pointed out a problem that needs to be fixed right away. In a report by the Journal Sentinel and tweeted by Jim Owczarski on X:
“They move without the ball, they share the ball, that’s how they play,” Rivers said. “We didn’t handle that very well. We’ll fix that.”
“The ball didn’t move a lot tonight, not the way it’s been moving. I think right now what our team is, we get our personality from the offensive end. And, we don’t want that. We want to get our personality from the defense, from playing hard and doing defensive things. Tonight you could just see it,” Rivers added.
Even after trading for Patrick Beverley, the team is still struggling on the defensive end of the court. Hopefully, a couple more games will help the Bucks improve in that area to finish the regular season strong.
