All the momentum the Milwaukee Bucks had been building up over the past two games was wasted on Tuesday night. After logging back-to-back blowout wins against the Charlotte Hornets and the defending champs Denver Nuggets, the tables were completely turned against the Bucks on Tuesday night.
Milwaukee hosted an undermanned Miami Heat side that did not have the services of talisman Jimmy Butler, but this clearly did not impact the game at all. The Heat embarrassed the Bucks on their own home floor, scoring a massive 123-97 victory against a hapless Milwaukee side.
Doc Rivers Sounds Off on Milwaukee Bucks’ Struggles Vs. Heat
Coach Doc did not pull any punches in his post-game press conference. He called it as it is as he criticized his team’s overall effort against Miami:
“The ball didn’t move a lot tonight, not the way it’s been moving,” Rivers said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I think right now what our team is, we get our personality from the offensive end. And, we don’t want that. We want to get our personality from the defense, from playing hard and doing defensive things. Tonight you could just see it.
“Everyone was trying to force the ball. Give Miami credit. The one thing you can’t do against them is hold the ball and dance with the ball. They’re a great load-up team.”
Rivers obviously wasn’t happy with what he saw from his squad on Tuesday night, and he wasn’t shy about airing his frustrations publicly.
Coach Doc admitted that he ripped into the Bucks after their 129-105 blowout loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves last week, so expect nothing less from him after this humiliating defeat to Miami.
