The Milwaukee Bucks went about their business in NBA free agency, with most of their attention focused on extending the deals of a couple of their core players. They succeeded in doing so by penning both Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez to big-money extensions, thereby providing Giannis Anteotkounmpo with the same championship-winning core for the upcoming season.
One player that was reportedly on their radar during free agency was Dillon Brooks, who ultimately chose to sign a massive four-year, $80 million deal with the Houston Rockets. The controversial forward was in action with the Canadian national team on Wednesday, and true to form, he was in the middle of a handful of contentious moments throughout the contest.
Milwaukee Bucks FA Target Dillon Brooks Gets the Savage Treatment

The Canadians faced off against Luka Doncic and Slovenia in the quarter-finals of the FIBA World Cup, and at the onset, Brooks was welcomed by a host of boos from the home crowd. The tournament is currently being held in The Philippines, which is pretty much an extension of LA given how much support and loyalty they have for the Los Angeles Lakers. As such, it comes as no surprise that the Rockets swingman was jeered by the fans the moment he stepped on the court:

Dillon Brooks is used to being Public Enemy No. 1 by now, though. He went in and did what he had to, which of course, included pestering Luka Doncic from the get-go:
Dillon Brooks in three minutes of the Canada vs. Slovenia game:
– booed by the local fans
– unsportsmanlike foul for elbowing Zoran Dragic
– blowing kisses to the Filipino crowd after a 3-pointer

It did not stop there. The 27-year-old got himself ejected in the fourth quarter for taunting. He headed back to the locker room for an early bath, which is where he waited for his teammates after they secured the 100-89 win over Slovenia. To pass the time, Brooks decided to do a bit of shadowboxing in the tunnel:

With the win, the Canadians are headed to the semi-finals to battle Serbia on Friday.
Milwaukee Bucks Linked to Dillon Brooks in NBA Free Agency

Before he decided to take his talents to the Houston Rockets, Brooks was reportedly a free-agent target for the Bucks. However, given the amount of money he signed for in Houston, it comes as no surprise that Milwaukee never came close to recruiting the former Oregon standout.
Dillon Brooks is a love him or hate him type of player so Milwaukee fans will probably have some mixed feelings about this. Either way, the Bucks won’t have to worry about having a bona fide villain on their squad for the foreseeable future.
