There’s no doubt Damian Lillard had a big weekend as an All-Star recently, especially after bagging the main event’s MVP award. Among those dazzled by the Milwaukee Bucks star is no other than the Phoenix Suns’s Kevin Durant for his exceptional talent from downtown.
On the first night of All-Star Weekend, Lillard won the 3-Point Contest for the second year in a row by besting Trae Young and Karl-Anthony Towns in the final round. The Bucks star also combined with Mac McClung to become the most recent pair of players to win back-to-back titles in their respective contests.
The following night, Lillard balled out and dropped 39 points in the All-Star Game, including 11 three-pointers. The Bucks’ starting point guard then lifted the East to a dominant 211-186 victory over a West team led by Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
For his effort, Lillard was named MVP of the All-Star Game, despite the home crowd booing him. Also, the Bucks star made history by becoming the first player since Michael Jordan to win titles in back-to-back-nights of the said event.

Lillard’s outside shooting seemed like a work of art during the All-Star Game. Among those who were left in awe of the Bucks star’s talent was Kevin Durant, and he expressed his admiration in a video posted on the NBA’s official X account:
“Me and Kawhi was in awe of him shooting from the halfcourt line like it’s a free throw… strength, power, muscle memory.”

Along with the Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard, Durant was amazed at Lillard’s ability to drain shots from way beyond the three-point line. And as seen during the last weekend, the Bucks star earned this admiration from his fellow All-Stars, along with all the accolades he received.
