After 11 seasons playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard is now using his talents to help the Milwaukee Bucks win another ring. With a new coach in Doc Rivers and a running mate like Giannis Antetokounmpo, a championship is certainly within the horizon for the point guard.
During his time as a Trail Blazer, Lillard posted averages of 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game. Furthermore, he was also named to seven All-Star Games, seven All-NBA Teams, and won Rookie of the Year in 2013 while in Portland.
Needless to say, the acquisition of Lillard by the Bucks makes them among the few contenders that can go far in the postseason. Add the recent hiring of Rivers as Adrian Griffin’s replacement, and there’s really no reason for Milwaukee to falter in the upcoming postseason.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Damian Lillard Shares Advice His Father Gave Him During Draft Night
Of course, Lillard wouldn’t be in the situation he is in today if his beginnings didn’t set him straight. That’s exactly what the point guard shared with the public recently, as seen in a video posted by Orlando Sanchez on X:
“The most important thing you can do is lift people up”

That piece of advice given to Lillard by his father has been a foundation for how the All-Star point guard has performed in the NBA. Apart from his hard work and dedication to winning, Lillard remains committed to that advice throughout his stint in the league.
Now in his 12th year in the NBA, Lillard added that the example set by his father is being adapted into how he lives his life and how he plays the game. Furthermore, the Bucks’ star said that doing anything without expecting in return is the time when you’ll reap the benefits.
Without a doubt, Lillard remains to be one of the few stars with that kind of character and integrity. And even with a challenging road ahead, it’s certain that the point guard will stay true to what his father has taught him.
