Doc Rivers will be making his highly-anticipated Milwaukee Bucks coaching debut on Monday against the Denver Nuggets. The one-time NBA champion shot-caller held his first team shootaround ahead of the marquee matchup, which marked the beginning of a new era for the Bucks.
According to Milwaukee superstar Damian Lillard, everything went according to plan on Doc’s first day on the job.
Damian Lillard Spills on Doc Rivers’ First Milwaukee Bucks Shootaround
Lillard spoke to reporters shortly after Monday’s shootaround in Denver’s Ball Arena. Naturally, the first question the eight-time All-Star was asked centered around new head coach Doc Rivers. According to Dame, everything went on without a hitch:
“It was good,” Lillard said. “We had a lot of things to clear up — some defensive stuff, some offensive stuff. Things are a little bit different. I thought it was good, though. It was real good.”

As expected, Rivers is already doing whatever he can to stamp his authority early on. The Bucks brought him in for a reason and he’s wasting no time introducing himself and his unique brand of coaching to his new team.
Rivers and the Bucks would love nothing more than to secure a win in Coach Doc’s first game. They could not have gotten a tougher test, though, as they battle the defending champs on their home floor.
Then again, this sets the stage for Rivers to mark his much-awaited Bucks debut with a statement win.
