The Milwaukee Bucks faced Chet Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night in NBA preseason action, and Oklahoma City defeated Milwaukee 124-101. All preseason long, Holmgren has been dominating the competition and can very well dominate the competition during his rookie season as well.

On Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, he scored 18 points, grabbed three rebounds, and recorded three assists. Holmgren is only 21 years old and was the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Gonzaga, but missed all of last season with a foot injury.

He is ready to take the Thunder to another level this season. They were in the NBA play-in rounds last season but failed to make it to the NBA quarterfinals. Oklahoma City hopes to get back to the playoffs this season. They were last in the NBA playoffs in 2019-2020 as the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
The Thunder have not won a playoff series since winning two playoff series in 2015-2016 before losing to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Oklahoma City blew a 3-1 lead that year. They defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games in Round 1 and the San Antonio Spurs in six games in Round 2.
The Milwaukee Bucks Should be Happy They Only Face Chet Holmgren Twice a Year

With the Thunder being in the Western Conference, the Bucks should be thrilled that they will only face this basketball team twice this season. With the talent they have, along with Chet Holmgren, they could be one of the surprise teams in the Western Conference this NBA regular season in 2023-2024. Holmgren is going to be a candidate for the Rookie of the Year Award as long as he can stay healthy.
He will be one of the names across the league that will be talked about really fast. Holmgren will not be in MVP conversation this season but could be in future seasons. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and Joel Embiid will be some of the names that are mentioned in the MVP conversation this season. The Bucks and the Oklahoma City Thunder will play each other this season on March 24, 2024, and April 12, 2024.
