The Milwaukee Bucks face a daunting task on Thursday night when they host the league-best Boston Celtics. You could say that it’s going to be even more challenging for Milwaukee now that both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are coming off massive performances the night before.
Boston took care of business on Wednesday night, taking down the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime, 127-120. This was thanks in large part to another marvelous performance by the Celtics’ dynamic duo.
Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown Torch Wolves
The Timberwolves are the owners of the best record in the West. They entered Wednesday’s showdown with a 26-10 record, and they had every intention of making a statement on Boston’s own home floor.
This wasn’t to be the case, though, with Tatum and Brown combining for 80 out of the Celtics’ 127 points. Tatum finished with a game-high 45 points on 13-of-26 shooting with six triples, while Brown dropped 35 on 9-of-16 from the floor with four treys.
It comes as no surprise that the Celtics pair has set NBA Twitter ablaze with their latest heroic act:

Tatum & Brown absolutely demolishing the Timberwolves. They have been too successful at too young of an age and don't get the respect they deserve as a duo. Not even in their primes yet.

Up Next: Milwaukee Bucks
Depending on how you look at it, it’s also possible that all this could turn into an advantage for the Bucks. Tatum, Brown, and the rest of the C’s had to dig deep to muster out a win against a feisty Minnesota side, with the contest even requiring an extra period to determine a winner.
After the game, the Celtics will need to travel to Milwaukee where they will face the Bucks at the TD Garden less than 24 hours later.
The Bucks, on the other hand, are coming off a couple of days off with their last game being a 132-116 loss to the Jazz at home on Monday night.
The Bucks could have the edge over their East rivals if this game goes down the wire. Knowing the Celtics, though, there’s going to be very little room for error for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co.
