According to Brook Lopez, he wasn’t able to bid Jrue Holiday a proper goodbye when the latter was shipped off by the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the Damian Lillard blockbuster deal this past summer.
Thankfully for Lopez, the Bucks get to face off against Holiday the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, presenting the first time Lopez will get to see his former teammate since his move away from Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Brook Lopez Looking Forward To Jrue Holiday Reunion

In a recent interview, Lopez shed light on his own experience surrounding Holiday’s trade. The fact that the veteran big man wasn’t able to say a proper goodbye makes Wednesday’s reunion a bit emotional for him:
“I didn’t see him,” Lopez said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I just figured he wasn’t in for that day of workouts and everything, so I didn’t get a chance to see him. So, it’ll be my first time seeing him since then. I’m excited to see my guy, give him a hug, man. He’s a great dude. He’s so special.”

Bucks fans would certainly agree with Lopez’s assessment here. After all, there’s no denying that Holiday was a crucial piece of the team’s historic 2021 title run.
For his part, Lopez knows it will be tough facing off against Holiday, who will now be on the opposite side of the fence. The former All-Star center is well aware of what Jrue brings to the table.
“I’ll be excited to see him – be annoying to play against him because that’s what he does,” he said with a laugh. “But I’ll definitely be excited to see him. I miss him very much.”

Whether they admit it or not, I’m pretty sure (most) Bucks fans miss Holiday, too.
