There are more than a couple of big names on the Milwaukee Bucks’ roster for 2023-24. However, there’s no denying that the supporting cast will also play a significant role in whatever level of success this team is going to reach this year.
One player who is expected to be a key element to the Bucks achieving their lofty objectives this season is veteran big man Bobby Portis.
Milwaukee Bucks Vet Bobby Portis Spills on Everyday Mindset
There are few other players that perfectly represent the underdog story than Portis. This man has worked his way to the top in spite of all the roadblocks that he had to go through. The fact that the 28-year-old is now an NBA champion is a clear testament to this fact.
Portis was recently asked to talk about his role in the team. The 6-foot-10 big man then revealed the type of mindset he comes with whenever he’s out there on the basketball court:
“Go out there and just playing my game how I always play, like I always play,” he said. “Just being who I am. Playing with confidence, playing with swag, that’s just who Bobby Portis is, man. I’m not someone coach told me to do, not something they draw up. Nothing I do on the court is really drawn up. I just come in, I just be myself.”
You won’t be hearing any complaints from my end because honestly, all this has worked tremendously for Portis through the years.
“I just go out there and be myself. Have fun. That’s the biggest thing,” Portis continued. “… Just kinda play free and just kinda play with a sense of urgency and a sense of swag.”
Never change, Bobby.
