After watching Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo get himself ejected for accumulating two technical fouls during Wednesday’s clash against the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee head coach Adrian Griffin implied that he was to blame for the incident.
It’s not that it was Griffin who was complaining to the referees that led to Antetokounmpo getting tossed. However, it appears that this is exactly why Griffin believes he must “protect” Giannis more.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Adrian Griffin Tossed Vs. Pacers
Well, Griffin did just that on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers. Early in the second half, an incensed Griffin argued with the game officials about a non-call on Antetokounmpo. The rookie shot-caller was a bit too overenthusiastic in his discussion, which led to two quick technical fouls and an ejection:

In his post-game interview on Wednesday, Griffin said that he feels he has been “been dropping the ball” in terms of having his superstar’s back. What was made evident on Thursday — less than 24 hours after Griffin made his statement — is that he is a man of action.
Bucks Fans Approve
Instead of complaining about the incident, the general majority of Bucks fans actually loved what they saw from Coach Griff. The supporters made their feelings known on Twitter:
Love it, tbh.

Griffin clearly wanted to send a message with his actions here and there’s no denying that that the fans heard him loud and clear. I would certainly expect a similar reaction from the players as well.
