The Milwaukee Brewers are just four days away from starting their 2025 MLB regular season with a road series against the New York Yankees. And while the approaching season is generating a great deal of excitement, the unfortunate truth of the matter is that Milwaukee has not escaped Spring Training without more than their fair share of injuries.
Outfielder Blake Perkins, who many feel was robbed of a Gold Glove last season, fractured his shin after fouling a ball off of his leg during batting practice earlier this spring. Several starting pitchers, DL Hall, Aaron Ashby, and Tobias Myers, have also gone down with various ailments. Hall is currently on the 60-day injured list with a lat strain.
Needless to say, Milwaukee cannot afford many more injuries, especially to their key players.
Milwaukee Brewers Outfielder Sal Frelick Is Dealing with a Calf Injury

Fans following the Brewers lately in Spring Training may have noticed that one of their starting outfielders last season, Gold Glove winner Sal Frelick, has not been in the lineup for the last several days.
As it turns out, he is dealing with a sore calf:

From the sound of it, it appears that Milwaukee is simply being cautious with Frelick, not wanting to risk injury to a player that will play a vital role in their outfield this season. With Perkins already out, it is imperative that the rest of the outfielders stay as healthy as possible.
And the Brewers have probably seen enough of Frelick this spring to be convinced that he will be okay once the season starts. In 14 Spring Training games, he is hitting .359/432/.538 with two home runs, eight RBI, and four stolen bases.
He had two home runs in 145 games last season.
Best of all, perhaps, he has five walks compared to just three strikeouts.
Earlier this spring, it was reported that the Gold Glove winning right fielder reported to camp after having added 20 pounds of muscle to his slim frame. While adding muscle does not always mean better power numbers, he certainly seems to have found a better hitting stroke this spring.
If that carries over the regular season, it will go a long way in helping a Brewers offense that has to find ways to replace the 32 home runs and 112 RBI Willy Adames had last year.
