The Milwaukee Brewers won their fifth-straight game by defeating the Chicago White Sox 6-3 on Sunday afternoon. It was Chicago’s 11th straight loss. Freddy Peralta had a rocky first inning in which he gave up two runs, but rebounded to pitch five strong innings of three-run ball while striking out seven.
Offensively, Milwaukee got a boost from rookie Jackson Chourio, who slammed a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the second inning. Gary Sanchez added a two-out two-RBI single in the eighth inning to extend the Brewers’ lead.
Milwaukee Brewers Catcher William Contreras and Chicago White Sox Outfielder Tommy Pham Exchanged Words
There were some fireworks (other than those that were set off after Chourio’s home run) in the eighth inning. In the top half of the frame, the White Sox had runners on second and third with one out. Corey Julks hit a fly ball to Christian Yelich in left field. Upon catching the ball, Yelich threw home and doubled up White Sox outfield Tommy Pham who had tagged from third.
“Nah we ain’t taking that from the Brewers. I don’t care how many Ls we got this year”

As one can see, Pham took exception to something Brewers catcher William Contreras said or did. He had to be escorted away from home plate and started shadowboxing on his way to his spot in the outfield.
Chicago White Sox Outfield Tommy Pham Wanted to Fight Milwaukee Brewers Catcher William Contreras
After the game, Pham was still steaming about the incident. He told reporters that it is situations like the one with Contreras that inspire him to box during the offseason:
Tommy Pham had some serious fighting words when asked about today’s beef with the Brewers
“There’s a reason why I do all kinds of fighting in the offseason… because I’m prepared to fuck somebody up”

“One run ball game, close play at the plate. Actually, it wasn’t even f—ing close,” Pham said. “It was a shallow fly ball to left field. You would expect the left fielder to throw the base runner out on that play. That situation in the game, third base coach sends you, you got to go.
“I’m nailed out at home by a mile. Start going back to the dugout, and all I hear is that ‘Oh you tough guy’ and hurrah s—. I’ll never start anything, but I’ll be prepared to finish it. There’s a reason I do all kinds of fighting in the offseason, so that I am prepared to f— somebody up. So, you can take it for what it is.”
While Pham still seemed to be stewing over the play at the plate, Contreras seemed to have forgotten all about it.
Milwaukee Brewers Catcher William Contreras Had the Opposite Response to the Question
When Brewers reporters asked Contreras about the play, he seemed a little confused about it at first, almost like he had forgotten that it happened:

“You know, I wasn’t really paying attention to what he was saying. I didn’t know what he was saying or what he was saying my direction. I was just excited about the play and went back to the dugout,” Contreras said.
In response to a question about whether or not Pham was just barking at him and the team, Contreras said, “I have no idea. I’m just concerned about myself and my team. We’re winning the game, so I’m not sure.”
