Former Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader has had a rough 24 hours. After not pitching in a weekend series against his former team in Milwaukee his San Diego Padres traveled to St. Louis. He recorded a save in the opening game on Monday, but gave up consecutive walk-offs to Tommy Edman on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ex-Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader gave up two consecutive walk-offs to St. Louis Cardinals player Tommy Edman.
On Tuesday, August 29 Josh Hader entered the game for the Padres in the 10th inning. The game was tied at five a piece and the first batter he faced was rookie Masyn Winn. Winn advanced ghost runner Richie Palacios to third on a SAC fly. Following this Paul Goldschmidt was intentionally walked to set up a potential inning ending double play. Tommy Edman had other plans as he launched a walk-off single to the left field wall and won the game.
A day later San Diego again called upon Josh Hader, this time with a 4-3 lead in the ninth inning. He proceeded to get the first two outs, but then gave up a double to Masyn Winn. This brought Tommy Edman up to the plate who launched a walk-off two run home run to right center field.
Tommy Edman’s consecutive blows to Padres closer Josh Hader certainly hurts their playoff chances, especially seeing how they had just been swept by the Milwaukee Brewers. The next few series for San Diego are all tough as they will face the San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros, and then the Los Angeles Dodgers.
