The Milwaukee Brewers made some early headlines during Winter Meetings. On the first day they announced the signing of top prospect Jackson Chourio to a historic contract extension, re-signed Wade Miley, and brought in starting pitcher Joe Ross on a major league deal. During the next two days the Brewers did not make any moves that included not selecting a player in the Rule-5 draft.
One day after the Winter Meetings came to an end the signing of two former Brewers players was announced. One signing included a former infielder signing a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals and the was a former pitcher who signed a split Major League contract with the Atlanta Braves.
Former Milwaukee Brewers infielder Mike Brosseau signed with the Kansas City Royals and ex pitcher Angel Perdomo with the Atlanta Braves.
Prior to the start of the 2022 season Mike Brosseau was acquired by the Brewers via trade with the Tampa Bay Rays. Talented pitcher Evan Reifert was sent down south in the deal. In July 2023 Mike Brosseau was released by Milwaukee and he ended up going to Japan to finish out the season. He is now back in the United States and is joining the Kansas City Royals organization on a minor league deal.
Angel Perdomo, a tall and hard throwing left-handed reliever, joined the Brewers in 2019 on a minor league contract. He made his MLB debut in 2020 but struggled with command. He was placed on waivers in 2022 and bounced around between the Rays and Pittsburgh Pirates afterwards. The Atlanta Braves actually claimed him earlier this off-season, non-tendered him shortly after, and now have elected to re-sign him. He joins the Braves 40-man roster but is expected to miss the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery.
