The Milwaukee Brewers shockingly lost manager Craig Counsell to their division rival Chicago Cubs earlier this off-season. While he is still assembling his coaching staff a former coach underneath him, who resigned in January of 2022 to spend more time with his family, has accepted a job with an American League West team.
Former Milwaukee Brewers bullpen coach Steve Karsay, who served under Craig Counsell, has accepted a job with the Los Angeles Angels.
According to Sam Blum and Will Sammon of The Athletic Steve Karsay is joining the Los Angeles Angels coaching staff. The Angels staff will feature new manager Ron Washington, new pitching coach Barry Enright, and now new bullpen coach Steve Karsay.
With the Milwaukee Brewers Steve Karsay also served as a bullpen coach. He was with the organization for three seasons in which the Brew Crew consistently had some of the best bullpens in the league. His new challenge will be working with an Angels relief staff that has had fluctuating results on a year to year basis with more of the results being bad than good.
