Milwaukee Brewers top prospect Jackson Chourio is playing in the Venezuelan Winter League for the third consecutive season. This gives the currently 19 year old teenager a great opportunity to compete against a mix of MLB veterans as well as other prospects. On Saturday night, while rocking a new hairdo, he hit his first home run of the winter.
Top Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jackson Chourio swats his first winter league home run.
Jackson Chourio’s solo home run off of left-handed pitcher Gunnar Kines was Águilas del Zulia’s only run of the game. He took the ball to deep left-center field. As mentioned above he did debut a new haircut as well in which he is rocking braids.
¡BOMBAZO DE JACKSON CHOURIO! 🤯

During the minor league season Jackson Chourio launched a career best 23 home runs and got six games worth of action in Triple-A. He also accumulated 91 RBI and 44 stolen bases. During the VEWL he is yet to steal a base throughout his first six games, but one underrated statistic is that he has only struck out once in his first 23-plate appearances.
The five tool player is continuing to impress wherever he plays despite consistently being one of the youngest players. Oftentimes he is the youngest player on the field, but one of the best performers. Hopefully he stays healthy this winter and comes to the Brewers spring training ready to make the final jump to the big leagues.
