Milwaukee Brewers top ranked prospect Jackson Chourio has spent the entire season in Double-A with the Biloxi Shuckers. A promotion may be in his future soon, but remaining at the same minor league level has allowed him to break a Shuckers record held by Corey Ray.

Jackson Chourio has set a Biloxi Shuckers record for the most RBI in season. This was previously held by Corey Ray, who was the Milwaukee Brewers fifth overall pick in the 2016 draft.
Entering Wednesday’s game Jackson Chourio was tied with Corey Ray for the single season franchise record of 74 RBI. During the game he launched a towering two run home run over the left field wall that brought his RBI total up to 76 and gave him sole possession of the RBI record.

Corey Ray recorded 74 RBI for the Shuckers in 2018. That season he slashed .239/.323/.477 with 27 home runs and 37 stolen bases. Jackson Chourio still has approximately four weeks of games remaining, but he entered the night with a .279/.334/.454 line with 17 home runs and 34 stolen bases.
It will be interesting to see if the Milwaukee Brewers elect to promote Jackson Chourio to Triple-A or not this season, but regardless he has now inked his name into the Biloxi Shuckers record books.
