Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta is entering his first season as the team’s top of the rotation starter. The 27 year old was described as “built different” and “ready for it” by GM Matt Arnold. Recently he opened up on his path to the big leagues with an emotional video showing his path from the Moca, Dominican Republic to Milwaukee.
Sophia Minnaert helped the Milwaukee Brewers and Freddy Peralta construct a 27 minute video highlighting his path in baseball and life.
Freddy Peralta, who is always all smiles, opens up his video by saying, “I never tried to do the things I do. I just think that’s who I am. Happy and smiling. And I like sharing it with others, with my teammates. I feel good and happy about being like that.”
From there Peralta helps narrate how early his love for baseball began, why he attributes his parents as his biggest influence res in his career, when and why he switched from being a position player to a pitcher, how he cried often early on in his minor league career with Seattle, and how Milwaukee has made him feel welcomed and provided him with security.

In the video Peralta and his mother recall the event of Mothers Day in 2018. His family originally obtained visa’s to watch him pitch in Triple-A Colorado Springs, but instead traveled to Coors field to watch Freddy make a historic MLB debut.
