Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff is expected to miss most of the 2024 season with shoulder surgery, but it appears as if the Brewers are looking to shop him to other teams. They are in trade talks with other teams, according to MLB Network’s Jon Morosi.

Woodruff is 30 years old and he will be a free agent after the 2024 season. It appears as if this will be the best business decision for the Brewers. Will see what general manager Matt Arnold decides to get back for him if a trade can very well happen.

In only 11 games pitched last season, Brandon Woodruff had a 5-1 record with a 2.28 ERA. In 67.0 innings pitched last season, he gave up 40 hits and 17 runs. Woodruff walked 15 batters and struck out 74 of them last season.
If someone is able to get him in a trade, he could be a good value for someone in the second half of the 2024 season.
Milwaukee Brewers Starting Picher Brandon Woodruff Being on the Trade Market Gets Reactions From Fans on Twitter
Woodruff landing on the trade market came as a surprise considering the fact he is going to be out for some of the 2024 season. It felt as if Milwaukee was just going to hang onto him and hope he would get healthy to help them for another potential National League Central crown after winning the division last season with a 92-70 record.
With change going on with the Brewers player personnel for next season and beyond, this is how some fans reacted on Twitter to the news on Friday morning:
The Brewers having trade discussions about Pitcher Brandon Woodruff is not what I needed to see to start off the morning. Brewers don’t do it! #Brewers #MLB

If the @Yankees acquire Brandon Woodruff, That’s a great DEPTH rotation piece. Likely #5 Starter. He’s not the big rotation get!

These are some mixed reactions not only by the Milwaukee Brewers fanbase but by some other fanbases as well. It is unknown which teams are in the market for him, but some of the possible teams that could be in play are the New York Mets, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, the Miami Marlins, and the Baltimore Orioles.
If and when Woodruff becomes available to pitch in 2024, he will be useful to someone. This could be a good decision business-wise by the Brewers organization.
