Brewers outfielder Joey Wiemer has been playing good defense all season. Baseball savant currently has him in the 97th percentile in outs above average and 85th in outfielder jump. To go along with this his arm strength is in the 77th percentile.
During Saturday’s game against the Oakland Athletics Joey Wiemer made Brewers franchise history. In the second inning he collected two outfield assists. His first came when he threw out Ramon Laureano at second base and his second came on a perfectly executed relay throw that cut down Jonah Bride at home.

Joey Wiemer makes Brewers history with two outfield assists in the same inning.
According to Elias Sports Bureau no other Brewers outfielder has two outfield assists in the same inning. This is quite the accomplishment for the rookie center fielder who has been playing at a gold glove caliber all season.
