It’s never too early to discuss next season, right? Now that the All-Star game has concluded, it’s time to start thinking towards the future. MLB announced on Thursday the release of the 2024 schedule for all 30 teams just one day after announcing that the Dodgers and Padres will kick off the season with an International game in Seoul, South Korea. Opening Day is slated to be Thursday, March 28 with the final game of the season on Sunday, September 29.
Since the implementation of all 30 MLB teams playing each other, there are going to be some fun match-ups in store once again for the 2024 season. Let’s take a look at a few exciting games fans can look forward to next season.
Opening Day: March 28 @ Mets
The New York Mets not only open the season for the crew, but close out the season as they’ll be in Milwaukee Sept. 27-29. The Brewers will be out of town for MLB’s Opening Day as they take on the Mets on March 28 at Citi Field.
When the Brewers opened their season at home this season against the Mets, you might recall that a certain rookie by the name of Brice Turang hit his first career HR….Which was also a grand slam.
Home Opener: April 2 against the Minnesota Twins.
The Brewers will open up their season at home on Tuesday, April 2 in a two-game series against the Minnesota Twins. They will also see the Twins again in July for another two-game series in Minnesota.
One thing to note: The Brewers don’t play the Chicago Cubs until May; The last few years of Opening Day have been against the Cubbies.
April 26-28: Home against Yankees
Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees will be traveling to Milwaukee once again to face the Brewers in a three-game series at the end of April. This is the only time this season that we will see the crew face off with the Yankees. They last went against Milwaukee in September of 2022, where Garrett Mitchell had an amazing walk-off in Game 1 of that amazing series.
The crew will see the Yankees in September of this year when they travel to Yankee Stadium for a three-game series.
May 17-19: Brewers @ Astros
The Brewers will travel to Houston, TX to play in a three-game series against the 2022 World Series Champions, Houston Astros. When the Brewers hosted the Astros back in May, they ended up taking two out of three, both in shutout fashion.
May 27-31, June 1-2: Home against Chicago Cubs followed by Chicago White Sox.
It’s going to be Chicago mania at the end of May as the Brewers host the Chicago Cubs in a four game series, followed by the Chicago White Sox in a three-game series as part of a seven-game homestand. This also will be the only time the Brewers will face the White Sox in the 2024 season.
August 23-25: Brewers @ Oakland
Brewers fans don’t really like to talk about what happened this season against arguably the worst team in baseball. Being swept by the A’s in a three-game series at home was probably the lowest point of the Brewers’ season that I’m sure everyone would just like to erase from their memory. However, 2024 has the crew traveling out to California to face off with the A’s once again in a three-game series. Hopefully it’ll be better for Milwaukee than it was this year…
Other Games to Look Out For.
Besides some exciting matchups, there’s always the games that take place across the league to commemorate certain events / prominent people.
