The Milwaukee Admirals won for the 18th consecutive game against the Chicago Wolves on the road on Thursday by a final score of 4-0. Yaroslav Askarov earned his fifth shutout in the minors this season for Milwaukee.
He has played a huge role in this 18-game winning streak. In the game against Chicago, Askarov finished the game with 27 saves. On the year, he has played in 28 games for the Admirals and has a record of 21-6-1 with a .923 save percentage and a 2.04 GAA.
Oh. So THAT’s how you win 17 straight (and counting) @mkeadmirals pic.twitter.com/6i7t2owHDZ

Yaroslav Askarov feels ready to be a full-time NHL goalie after his latest performance. He is 21 years old and was the #11 overall selection for the Nashville Predators during the 2020 NHL Draft.
With the win for the Admirals, they improve to 35-10-1 with 71 points. They can very well win the Western Conference this season. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for the Admirals.
In the first period for the Admirals, Adam Wilsby scored his fifth goal of the season. Milwaukee erupted for three goals in the third period. Zach L’Heureux scored two goals in that frame and it was his 13th and 14th goals of the season. The other goal scored in that period for the Milwaukee Admirals was scored by Cody Hodgson and it was his first goal of the season.
Cody Hodgson was forced to retire 8 years ago after being diagnosed with malignant hyperthermia.
At age 33, he signed a PTO with the Milwaukee Admirals and scored his first pro goal since the 2015-16 season 👏

It’s Possible That the Nashville Predators Call Up Yaroslav Askarov Before the End of the Milwaukee Admirals AHL Season
With the NHL trade deadline looming on March 8, Nashville Predators goalie Juuse Saros has been mentioned in trade talks. If Nashville were to deal him in a trade with another team and they can’t another goalie back in return for him, Yaroslav Askarov would be called up to the NHL and this time it probably would be for good.
It probably wouldn’t be ideal for the Milwaukee Admirals fanbase since they have a great chance to win the Calder Cup this season for the first time in over 20 years. It would be ideal for Askarov to finish the year in the AHL before playing with the Nashville Predators in 2024-2025. This season with Nashville, he has played in two games and has a 1-0 record with a .943 save percentage and a 1.47 GAA, along with zero shutouts.
