Luka Doncic and Slovenia took on Canada on Wednesday in the FIBA World Cup’s quarter-finals. Let’s just say that the game did not have any shortage of action, which also included the Dallas Mavericks superstar getting himself ejected in the fourth quarter of the contest.
Without their best player on the court, Slovenia succumbed to a powerhouse Canada side,100-89, thereby ending any hope for a gold-medal finish for the Europeans.
Luka Doncic Hits FIBA Tribune With Disrespectful Jab

Canada star Dillon Brooks had an agenda in this one, and it was to try and get under the skin of Doncic. Well, it looked like his plan worked, with the Mavs guard earning himself a technical foul in the second period after a non-call on Brooks:

In case you missed it, Doncic busted out the money gesture using his thumb and index finger, which is believed to be a jab toward the FIBA tribune. There’s no way to tell what exactly Luka meant by this, but it doesn’t take a genius to realize that he was probably making some sort of money-related accusation toward the tournament officials.
At the mid-way point of the fourth quarter, Doncic got his second technical foul after complaining to the referee about another non-call. This meant an automatic ejection for the Mavs superstar. He didn’t leave the court without sending one final message to the tribune, though:
Luka Doncic EJECTED.

Luka Doncic made a money sign gesture toward the VIP tribune where the FIBA executives were seated.
This gesture followed a highly emotional reaction from the crowd and the Slovenia team due to a foul call on RJ Barrett.

Doncic finished with 26 points on 8-of-20 shooting, to go along with four rebounds, five assists, and two steals. He went 4-of-6 on his attempts from deep in 30 minutes of action. The Slovenians bow out of the tournament after this loss, while Canada heads on to the semi-finals against Serbia.
